Privacy at a glance
Time Manager has been designed around local, on-device processing.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to Time Manager ("Time Manager", "the app", "we", "our", or "us"), an Android application designed to provide users with insights into their screen time and application usage.
Time Manager provides features including screen-time summaries, application usage analytics, daily and weekly activity insights, application classifications, and configurable daily screen-time limits.
Protecting user privacy is an important part of the application's design. Wherever reasonably possible, information required for Time Manager's functionality is processed and stored locally on the user's device.
Information Time Manager accesses
Time Manager requires access to Android usage statistics in order to provide its core functionality.
Application usage information
When Android Usage Access is enabled, Time Manager may access information supplied by the Android operating system, such as:
- Which applications were used.
- The package names of applications.
- Approximate times when applications entered or left the foreground.
- The amount of time applications were used.
- Application usage events required to reconstruct usage sessions.
This information is used to calculate metrics such as total screen time, individual app usage, hourly usage, daily activity, weekly activity, and usage comparisons.
How information is handled
| Information | Purpose | Handling | Shared? |
|---|---|---|---|
| App usage statistics | Calculate screen time and activity analytics | Processed locally on your device | No |
| App package names and app labels | Identify applications in usage reports | Processed locally | No |
| App classifications | Categorize activity as productive, neutral, or distracting | Stored locally on your device | No |
| Daily screen-time limit | Calculate progress against your selected limit | Stored locally on your device | No |
Android Usage Access
Time Manager uses Android's Usage Access functionality to retrieve application activity information required for screen-time analytics.
Android requires users to manually grant this access through the device's system settings. Time Manager cannot silently grant itself Usage Access.
You may revoke Usage Access at any time through your Android device settings. If access is revoked, Time Manager will no longer be able to calculate new usage statistics and some core features will become unavailable.
Local processing and storage
Time Manager's current version performs usage analysis locally on the Android device.
Application classifications and the user's selected daily screen-time limit are stored locally using Android application storage.
Time Manager does not currently provide cloud synchronization, user accounts, or remote backup of these preferences.
Consequently, uninstalling the application or clearing its application data may remove locally stored Time Manager preferences.
Data collection and transmission
In the current version of Time Manager, app-usage information used for screen-time analysis is not transmitted by Time Manager to a developer-operated server.
Time Manager does not currently require account registration and does not ask users to provide names, phone numbers, addresses, passwords, profile information, or payment information for the app's core functionality.
The current version of Time Manager also does not include advertising functionality or an advertising network for monetization.
Sale or sharing of information
Time Manager does not sell your application-usage history.
Time Manager does not sell personal information obtained through the app.
The current version does not share screen-time analytics or application usage history with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies.
Advertising and analytics
Time Manager version 1.0 does not use advertising to provide its core functionality.
Time Manager version 1.0 is designed without a developer-operated analytics backend for collecting users' application-usage histories.
If future versions introduce services such as cloud synchronization, crash reporting, analytics, subscriptions, advertising, or AI-based processing that materially change how information is handled, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or alongside those features.
Insights and automated analysis
Time Manager may provide observations about screen-time patterns such as changes in weekly usage, busiest usage periods, frequently used applications, or progress against a daily limit.
In Time Manager version 1.0, these insights are generated using deterministic application logic and locally calculated usage statistics.
The current version does not send application usage history to an external artificial intelligence service for generating these insights.
Data retention
Time Manager primarily queries usage information made available by the Android operating system when analytics are calculated.
User-selected settings such as app classifications and the daily screen-time limit remain stored locally until they are changed, application data is cleared, or Time Manager is uninstalled.
Since the current version does not maintain a developer-operated account or cloud database containing users' screen-time histories, there is no corresponding Time Manager cloud account history that users need to request deletion of.
Your choices and controls
You remain in control of Time Manager's access to usage information.
You may:
- Grant or revoke Android Usage Access through your device settings.
- Change your app classifications within Time Manager.
- Modify your daily screen-time limit.
- Clear Time Manager's application storage through Android settings.
- Uninstall Time Manager at any time.
Security
Time Manager is designed to minimize unnecessary transfer of sensitive application-usage information by processing its core analytics locally.
No software system can guarantee absolute security. Users should maintain reasonable device-security practices, including keeping Android updated, protecting device access, and obtaining applications from trusted sources.
Children's privacy
Time Manager is a general-purpose productivity and screen-time analytics application and is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.
The app does not require users to create profiles or provide personal identity information to use its core functionality.
Android and third-party platforms
Time Manager operates on the Android platform and may be downloaded through Google Play.
Android, Google Play, device manufacturers, and other platform providers may independently process information under their own privacy policies.
This Privacy Policy describes Time Manager's own handling of information and does not replace the policies of those external platforms.
Future features
Time Manager may evolve over time. Future versions may introduce additional features or optional services.
If a future feature requires materially different processing of user information, appropriate disclosures, permissions, controls, and updates to this Privacy Policy will be provided as required.
Users are encouraged to review this page after major application updates.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in Time Manager's functionality, applicable requirements, or privacy practices.
When this policy is updated, the effective date shown at the top of this page will be revised.
Material changes that require additional user notice or consent will be handled in accordance with applicable platform and legal requirements.
